National Save Your Hearing Day

Practice exercise habits that are healthy for your hearing!

When you are working out, blood is being diverted from other parts of the body (i.e. the cochlea), in order to support your exercising muscles. This, in combination with elevated music levels , increases your risk factors for hearing damage. On the other hand, people that exercise regularly may be reducing the rate of hearing loss from aging. (2)

So conflicting! Shat does this mean?

Try it :
  • Opt for over the ear headphones vs earbuds

  • Clean your headphones regularly

  • Listen to music without noise cancelling

  • Turn down your overhead music to 80 db

  • Check out the articles below (under references) for more information on healthy hearing and exercise!
