National Vitamin C Day



Celebrate today by enjoying some of your favorite foods that are high in Vitamin C!


Vitamin C Benefits (1):

  • Fights the common cold (by helping prevent more serious complications)

  • Improves immune system

  • Contains antioxidants that protect against free radical damage that can lead to heart & eye disease, arthritis, & cancer

  • Important for prenatal health

  • Skin (research has found links between nutrition intake and skin aging). Higher vitamin C intakes were associated with a better skin-aging appearance, with a lower likelihood of wrinkles, and dry skin. Some topical treatments w/ vitamin C have also been known to reduce wrinkles.

  • Repairs all body tissues; aides in the formation of collagen, absorption of iron, the healing of wounds

  • Maintenance of cartilage, bones, & teeth
